Jan Von Holleben

A biography about Jan Von Holleben

Jan Von Holleben was raised and born in Cologne, Southern Germany in 1977. His parents worked as a cinematographer and child therapist which helped influence him. Jan Von Holleben has also had a  strong connection and natural talent with the development of photography. He started photography by using what he calls his "magical tricks" by the age of thirteen. He got help from his friends and family with skills and imagination for his photography. He studied how to teach children with disabilities at the Padagogische Hochshule in Freiburg. After his study he decided to move and work in London, where he earned a degree in the Theory and History of Photography at Surrey Institute of Art and Design. He began to work as a picture editor, art director and photographic editor. Young Photographers United and photodebut are two photographic collectives he set up. His photographic work is a way to show his own personal experiences of play and memories as a kid. His work has been in exhibits internationally and published all around the world.
